This morning I translated the final episode of the children's cartoon that swallowed my Christmas vacation and then some. So I was really looking forward to not having to think about poo for a while, when I sat down in front of my computer to relax and catch up with the latest news headlines pertaining to this lovely country I live in.
Alas, I hope too much...
Japan's Abe says diarrhoea ruined premiership
TOKYO (AFP) — Japan's former prime minister Shinzo Abe, once touted as the fresh young face who would usher in a new conservative era, has said he quit the post because of severe diarrhoea.
"I have come to think that, so as to gain understanding on why I resigned, I should make no secrets about my illness," Abe said in a magazine article.
Abe, now 53, took office in 2006 as Japan's youngest premier in modern times and embarked on an avowedly conservative agenda including moving to rewrite the US-imposed pacifist constitution.
He announced he would resign on September 12, two days after he delivered a policy speech in parliament and vowed to continue his job despite a crushing election defeat, sagging voter support and a raft of scandals.
(...and so on)
Wow, who knew. And to think, we were all under the impression that he had been forced to resign because of all the corruption...
bahahaha! no way xD erm isn't diarrhoea curable anyway? o.O
