This internet cafe has free ice cream. The soda bar also has miso soup, all different colored pickles, sour plums, rice balls and gourmet teas. However, in order to use this computer I had to create a membership card using three forms of ID, one of which HAD to be my alien registration card. All this lead me to assume that all this procedure may only be necessary in the case of a customer who is a non-Japanese citizen. I may, after all, use this computer for evil terrorist purposes, such as attempting to stop Japan from hunting whales.
But whatever, it`s just another day in the futuristic police state of Japanistan.
More importantly, I saw trees yesterday. Yes, real trees! Not the tree-or-poodle trees that adorn Tokyo, but actual trees. It's been so long since I've been in the presence trees. Too long. I would have hugged them, but I didn't want to be mistaken for an eco-terrorist who could also want to- buddha forbid- save the whales.
Look, trees!
Also, a dragonfly:
First pizza - now trees!
Man life is good.
Peace,
Scout
