T IN LA

That is freakin' awesome! Interesting context. Why did they only live to 22?

Hey thanks for the message! I've actually been reading your blog since I found it last year but haven't commented before. Just finished your book a few weeks ago-thoroughly enjoyed it! If you're planning any readings etc. in Tokyo plz let me know.

It's so funny reading those critiques in english, it seems so dramatic from my stand point. I want to hear a bad review actually, I wonder if they ever gave bad reviews...probably ruin a courtesan's life, and bad for business for the whole area. So probably no bad reviews.

Ahh courtesans, fascinating. It would be interesting to me to compare the European concept with the Japanese and then the time frame would be important as well. At least I would take a guess it would. Power they had it in spades, but now I wonder about the difference in the two cultures, interesting. Only 22, wow, something is up with that.

I love reading about the tayu and oiran.
Somehow I have a fascination about them and their lives.
Geisha are another passion of mine.
I would definitely love to read a historical fiction based on them.^^
